Volunteers are the backbone of the Vancouver Hospice Society.
We are proud to have an amazing team of over 200 volunteers who work with us to support patients and families at the hospice, and in the community. Volunteers are carefully selected, and benefit from a comprehensive hospice training program. These volunteers may visit palliative individuals in their homes, co-facilitate bereavement programs, or visit patients at the hospice.
Volunteers also run our 3 thrift shops, help with administrative tasks, and work in fundraising and special events. Our beautiful gardens are cared for by a crew of dedicated garden volunteers, and our hospice facility is in top shape thanks to the ongoing attention of our volunteer maintenance team!
At this time, we have decided not to schedule another hospice volunteer training, as we currently have a full roster of volunteers. We will reassess as our needs change in the future. Until then, we would keep your application on file and contact prospective volunteers when we are ready to do another intake.
If you wish to apply as a hospice volunteer, please email the following to firstname.lastname@example.org:
- Volunteer Application Form (first download the pdf, then open it and fill it out on your computer, then save)
