Counselling Services
Our clinical counsellors provide compassionate, non-judgmental support during what can be an incredibly difficult time. They work with individuals and families, and can help with accessing resources, exploring challenging emotional issues, and providing grief and bereavement support. Our counsellors can also help with making difficult decisions that arise as one nears the end of life.
We encourage patients and families to discuss sensitive topics with the nurse or counsellor, such as changes to treatment plans, funeral planning, and revising or completing a will. We also encourage families to access resources within your church, by speaking with your minister or spiritual advisor.
Bereavement Support
We provide individual counselling sessions at the hospice for family members following the death of a loved one. Bereavement support groups are also scheduled throughout the year. Sessions and groups are facilitated by clinical counsellors, and offer a safe space to explore the profound experience of grief and loss. For more info: Grief Support.
